Message I mean Drag radial are what? A tire DOT approve for highway use, yet has the characteristics of a drag racing slick. Yet with these two goals in mind it must be for the person who's on the go or one that has one set of rims for there car. Because when you really think about it, mixing DOT and drag racing really is contradicting to a degree. Mixing a semi medium tread life with a somewhat sticky compound vise just buying a Grade ZR for street use and a set of pure slicks for racing, be it drag quarter miles or auto cross.

What's the avg. tread life on daily driven cars on DR's? Can't be much when there expected to perform on the track under sever conditions. I've seen both the Nitto's and the BFG's, which the BFG's compound seem to be far softer. Can't say I know of anyone riding on them daily, which leads back to the go pure slicks I'd say. Use them for what they where made for and then put them away.

Anybody go driving in the rain on drag radials? I know Steve Hensely, my good friend back in KC, Mo. lost his first 94 Black TT Supra on the Nitto's ( plain driving ). I for one have hydroplaned more them a few times caught out in the rain trying to get home just on the Nitto 555's street tires.

I understand fully the marketing and theory behind them, just seems to make more since in having a tire just for it's application for longer life both on and off the track. I got my Hoosier's off ebay for $20ea. My Nitto 555's street tires have lasted over 3 years and not until I did that massive burn out display ( posted pic's over the summer ) did they show signs of tread wear.

Just asking thoughts on this one and why some pick what they do :)

STAGE V++++
Going to XIII and beyond :)
